Globalization has diversified international high schools in China, enriching education with varied models and cultural integration but challenging students with unfamiliar curricula. Personalized learning, tailored to individual needs and supported by AI technologies like ChatGPT, enhances engagement and performance. While promising, further research is needed to address challenges and fully realize its potential for student success.

Personalized learning relies on student data analysis to customize education, raising data privacy concerns that require careful management. Its effectiveness depends on accessible, high-quality digital resources, which vary in availability(Guo et al., 2023). Additionally, the high cost of technology poses financial challenges, especially in Chinese international high schools, necessitating research into affordable solutions to ensure equitable implementation.Personalized learning in Chinese international schools faces challenges like data privacy concerns, limited digital resource availability, and high costs. To address these, future research should focus on cost-effective solutions, holistic student development, and refining implementation strategies to ensure effective integration into education.

Flexible curriculum design addresses diverse student needs in Chinese international high schools by offering modular, student-centered learning paths that align with individual goals and interests. This approach enhances motivation, engagement, and academic performance, preparing students for global higher education and careers. Additionally, tailored bilingual language programs, supporting both English and Mandarin, are crucial for helping students navigate bilingual education and succeed in a multicultural environment. The importance of integrating culture in language learning is highlighted in studies, which indicate that when learners actively engage with the culture associated with the language they are acquiring, it significantly enhances their academic performance and fosters a more profound understanding of the language(Arabski & Wojtaszek, 2011).Language programs should integrate linguistic and cultural competence to prepare students for bilingual education and global challenges. Additionally, ongoing teacher training in modern methodologies, technology use, and differentiated instruction is essential for effective personalized learning implementation. The integration of technology, particularly AI-driven tools and learning management systems, is regarded as a means to enhance the effectiveness of personalized learning(Zhou, 2023).Technology enables personalized learning by tracking progress, offering data-driven insights, and adapting to individual needs, bridging performance and engagement gaps. A modular curriculum, allowing student choice, fosters motivation, ownership, and better academic outcomes. Tailored bilingual programs in English and Mandarin are also crucial for ensuring active student participation in education.
